Mouse is not found on logon
I have an IBM PS/2 optical mouse. Once in while, when the system strats up, the mouse is not found. When I reboot, the problem goes away. I have Win XP now, but I had the same problem with Win 98. According to the control panel, I have no problem with the driver (from Microsoft). Please help.

(^^;?(It is sometimes the case.)
I think as it happens under Bios level, it doesn't rely on drivers. Make sure in Bios if the mouse is installed or not. Try another mouse, make sure of its connections, clean it. It may happens when particular configurations are used, actually it is not limited to the mouse, sometimes HDD, CDD, etc., are unrecognized, and done after reboot. |

this happens to me when i forget to reboot my computer when switching one mouse to another computer while it's already on. and the same happens for keyboard (cursor doesnt move and keyboard doesnt type) so i just reboot with the devices already connected and it works fine from there
