The bartons are newer, faster, and better (more cache, higher fsb). T-breds oc decently, but the 2500+ barton is about the best for that, you should be able to get it up to 3200+ speed or better. I haven't heard anything consistently bad about the Barton.
For OC'ing, get the nForce2 chipset. Period. Its the best for AMD.

i was thinking of barton too. guitarboy, i never heard any bad reviews of bartons either? maybe ur gramps just got a bad chip or a bad mobo? so karsh, ur saying to get the 2500+ to 3200+? what about starting with a 2600 or 2800? they come in barton flavors i take it. i dont need it to be the best for overclocking just decent enough to use with air cooling. what do you think the top for air-cooling a 2800 would be, so i know to go a notch lower
