new hardrive boot issue
Hello,
I have put a new 80gig HD into a windows computer. I am trying to get the machine to boot from the A:/ or CD drive but just stops after it runs the memory check. I says it sees the CD drive and I have changed the bios to every config. but it just won't get past the intial setup screen. Any ideas will be welcomed Thanks Leslie

you will have to list a few more things before anyone can answer this question.
do you still have any other hard drive in the computer, if so what is the jumper setting for it, and the new 80 gig, are the both on the same ide controller? if you just added the 80 gig drive and no other drives besides the cdrom, did you set the jumper to master and setup the partition(s) and format?
