new old PC

I bought a PC with specifications like this a year ago.

AMD Athlon 1200
512 Mb SDRAM
Motherboard Matsonic MS8038EP
Asus radeon 9200SE 128Mb

Do you know HOW can I unlock the Processor's multiplier so Ican OC it?

Well physically? no. Did you eve hold a processor in your hand, then stare at it trying to understand? Did you notice you'd pretty much need a microscope and hands more stable than a surgeon's to do anything to it? Good. Your BIOS needs to be able to do it. If it can't your MB sucks *** (lol )... I did here though that the Nforce2 chipsets found a way around this "lock" though...

Google it. Some types can be unlocked by hand, some mobo's can do it automatically.

You can connect L1 bridges with a conductor (pencil used to work, kits are available too). http://www.vr-zone.com/guides/AMD/AthlonXPUnlock/ shows you how. Doesn't work on the newest XP's or the 64's though.

Can't you increase the FSB? How much of an increase are you going to achieve by increasing the multiplier? Chips and mobos are cheap. If you're successful, you'll go from 1500 to what? Maybe 1800?

But it does sound like a fun project. Let us know if you try it and how it goes. And if you fail, no one dies.

If I fail no one dies ? nice supports.. but thanks a lot guys, I've managed to reach about 1800 before it crashed because of overheat.. ( I forgot to turn on the pump) And again... Thanks!!!
