Um, maybe constant_fie helped you, but otherwise you'll need to post more detail. I'm afraid I don't remember the specifics of your problems and setup from other threads.

sorry. my specs are:

amd athlon xp 2400+
768mb of corsair ram
450watt power supply
NF7-S2 (bought because more upgradeable than other mobo and supports sata and its good for overclocking)
radeon 9600pro

but i installed everything.i had it working (before i touched bios) tried installing xp but the disk had a scratch and woudlnt read right.so i just installed 98.i then went into bios.changed my boot up sequence and just enabled the onboard audio and then i saved and it and exited.

it then got a no video screen (it has like width adjustment for the monitor) so i reseated the video card.same problem.i tried different slots.same problem.i used an old pci video card and it was the same problem.

i then looked around and heard about some problems with boards using nForce2 chipsets.supposedly why changing bios you can kill the mobo very easily.its like a matter of luck.so i was wondering what i could do without sending the stupid mobo back everytime i kill it.lol

the main things i need to do was change boot up sequence and enable audio and sata. and hopefully overclock

Tried a CLEAR CMOS, or Reseting BIOS with the board jumpers?

well the onboard audio should work by default, at least that's what im using atm. and Sata works the same as long you plug in both connectors for it, unless you meant raid, in which case there's a disk for that to install the controller i think

Sounds like its dead, in which case sending it back for a new one would probably fix things. However, have you also tried a different power supply? Never know, might help. Strange that you had to activate the onboard sound and that killed it.

well here i'll show you what i found about nForce2 chipsets....

ok i can't find it.but it said that the motherboards using the nForce2 chipsets weren't included with something that nVidia ordered to be put on there.so they are easily killed.it said that the only one that could "die" and be recovered was one built by MSI

alls im wondering is if i send it back do you know of any way i can possibly change boot-up without "killing" the motherboard.

If it died send it back for a new one. I don't know what you're referring to regarding the chipset, so post it if you find it. Either way, if it died, it was under warranty, and you should send it back. If there was a problem with a certain board, new versions should have it fixed.
