Exclamation Noisy PC

My Roommates computer is really noisy, and is getting kind of annoying. It sounds like some fan (power, cpu or somthing else) is reving up and down. It doesnt do it all the time, but probably 75 percent of the time. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem. Thank you very much!!

I had a similar problem.

Once upon a time there was a happy Compaq Presario sold. The Presario was taken to a boat manufacturer, however, and later bought by a happy guy named Xbot. Xbot turned the Presario on and nearly had a heart attack upon hearing the horrid sound. Xbot opened up the case to see if there had been a fire. Xbot took it to the shop and the first procedure is to blow it out with compressed air. Xbot does so and suddenly clouds of dust poured into the air, causing Xbot to almost fall unconsious. Xbot opens the door and cleans out the fans. He plugs it in and nearly falls asleep at the soft sound that the Presario now emitts.

The moral of the story is that maybe you need to clean the fans a little. Your roommate's computer might have a lot of dust caught in it. The best way is to buy a bottle of compressed air, which should fix the problem. A compressed air blower machine would be even better. It's probably dust; that's what it usually is.
