Hello there!
I bought me a Logitech Cordless Desktop /w bluetooth. It's swell, but the software, that came with it sucks. I mean the Logitech SetPoint software. A few points here:
1) Crashes often: bluetooth connection with keyboard gets cut after two idle hours meaning I can't login.. reboot doesn't solve anything...
2) Compatibility issues: I had to edit the config-files by hand to get Winamp 5 working as the default media player, and it still doesn't work oll korrekt - the extra buttons don't work, when cursor is over Winamp-window. Nor can I use Mozilla Firebird, because only major brands like Netscape and Opera - not to forget IE - are supported, meaning the back- and forward-keys don't function on the mouse
3) lots of other issues like ugly interface and general sluggishness.
So, I ask, is there a substitue - open source or not - for Logitech SetPoint, and if there isnt' why isn't anyone coding one? I would, but I lack the knowhow. A simple and reliable substitute is needed, and I'd be probably willing even to pay for it..
How about it, all you gurus
