Opinions on Shuttle XPC barebones
I'm looking at putting together one of these little barebones systems for the first time, and am asking for anyone that owns one (or has worked with one, knows someone that has one, etc) for first hand opinions. Specifically, I want to know about issues with heat and if they are really as quiet as they say; this will be going into a bedroom and may or may not need to be powered up 24/7, so I'd like it to be as quiet as possible, obviously. TIA.

my girlfriend has one that we build recently. AMD 2.4GHZ, 80Gb HDD, 8xDVDRW, multi-card reader, 512 MB RAM.
the heat of the procssor i think is relatively good, i'm sure its no more than 40C. as for the noise, its none existant. very easy to put together and very cleverly laid out inside. |

Excellent, thanks for the feedback; I've been reading a couple of reviews on the specific one I want to get, looks promising.
