What OS? I don't recognize that error message. And get memtest+ and run a memory diagnostic based on your error message.

When you were inside the case, you may have inadvertantly shorted the RAM out by ESD. Memtest is good idea, but will take a long time. The first thing I would try is simply removing, and reinstalling the RAM...just make sure you ground yourself before touching it (touch the metal inside the case somewhere). This has worked for me in the past.

You may have also confused the bios a little....try taking the battery out of your motherboard for 5 mins, replacing, and then see what happens
