Power Failure - Boot Poblem now
Hey, I just had this powerfailure that lasted about 10 minutes. At first, the computer wouldn't do anything when you tried to turn it on. After a little while and messing with wire, the power clicked on but my monitor says "NO SIGNAL." I know there is nothing wrong with the monitor(monitor is 19" BenQ lcd, vid card is Nvidia 6800GT). Also, I had the computer hooked up to a power back-up. However, the ups tripped and shut the computer down improperly(no software installed or anything connected to ups besides the power cable). Any Help???
Info on the computer, if needed: AMD 64 CPU Nvidia 6800GT vid card Soyo Dragon Mobo Thermaltake PWS Dual Western digital HDDs Water cooled 1.5GB ddr Any Help? |

thats a pretty powerful computer there, the UPS being maybe only 300va might not have been able to keep the computer active for long. My machine isn't as powerful as yours but I run on a 650va UPS and it'll run it for a good 30 minutes or so plus two TFTs before turning off over serial.
When you start it up is it just the video not working? if its on a network can you ping it from another machine, does the harddrive light start flickering like it normally does to show activity when its booting? does it have onboard graphics you could try using to see if its a videocard issue? computer |
