I'd guess something was jarred loose when you moved the computer. However, if you aren't comfortable opening it up and checking the connections, take it back to the shop and have them fix it. You should have a warranty.

A small wire? Ive seen these, where does it go? does it look like the small cables which go from your CD/DVD ROM/RW drives to your sound card?

(^^;?(To build your PC, you'd better remember names of parts a bit.)

You don't need to be in a hurry, just study a bit step by step. Having a look at some introductory sites or book. Because wrong connections easily damage something. Read the manuals well.

Probably a jumper problem. Read megumi's link and google around to learn about ide channels and jumper settings.

The small wire you're thinking of is probably the sound connection, which goes to your sound card, or the motherboard if you have integrated sound.
As for email, post questions here. I don't do private help. (Unless you're willing to pay for it...)

The single wire that used to be connected to the drive was the hdd activity light connector. It's connected to the mobo now.

If anyone else runs into this thread. The messages pri slave not detected... secondary slave not detected.. might not mean a problem at all. If there is no slave drives (only one hard disk and one cdrom) then it is not an error. If you want to speed boot and get rid of these messages go into BIOS and under standard settings set the slaves to None instead of Auto (Auto will give the message and slow the boot a bit). I figure this sounds like persons problem as they say only two cables (1 ide and 1 power) where two drives would mean three cables (1 ide and 2 power).
