problem with external hard drive

so just recently i bought a bytecc external 3.5"/5.25" drive that is usb 2.0 compatible.

After everything is hooked up i turn the drive on and i hear a beep that the device has been recongnized but the hard drive does not appear

i check the device manager and there is an exclamation point of usb mass storage device (code 10)

so next i unistalled the driver and then unistalled it again and the problem is still there(windows sp pro)

anyone have any ideas on how to fix this

also i am using a new firewire ubs 2.0 combo card that i got from ebay

You are sure you are using the latest drivers from the manufacturer? Try uninstalling the whole thing, installing the new drivers first, then reinstalling the hardware.
