Raid 0 & its related apps?

Striping (Raid 0) is another option I have with my Motherboard GA-VAXP

Now having explored the basics of HDD partitioning and concluding that creating a back-up image of windows sounds more of a reason than HDD performance; I now consider the possibilities of RAID for increased read/write performance.

Partition Magic does not support striping? I checked this out and found that with Raid0, striping is the termed used for two (or more I would assume?) hardrives being used to read/write data in parallel to increase performance.

Reading&Writing? I take it that if your writing from your hdd to cd/dvd, that the Roms are holding you back and there is no increase of performance there?

Would I be correct in saying the only real use of Raid0 is rendering photos or digital video with all content already on the HDD?

What other uses could I experiment with Raid0? I guess if I run raid0 I cant take an image?

Raid 0 will increase performance of pretty much anything that uses the hdd, including video and rendering. If you have raid as an option on your board, when you put on two drives, it should be an option to set up in your bios or on startup, rather than just being something you do in windows. The drives show up as a single logical drive, so you should be able to ghost it still, might depend what program you use.
