RE: 5.1 Card only plays 2.1 sound!!!!!

Hi everyone,

Today i purchased a Creative Sound Blaster Live 5.1 card. And a little F*C#KING pissed off, because I'm only getting 2.1 speaker response. I'm using a Speed SPS-501 Speaker System, 3x new 3.5mm Line-Out Audio Cables. Any Ideas. Thanks in advance.

System Specifactions:
Intel Pentium III 800Mhz (133Mhz FSB, 256K L2)
192MB SD-RAM (3x 64MB 100Mhz FSB)
AOpen AX3S Pro (Intel 815 Chipset)
Maxtor 40Gb (7200rpm, ATA/133)
Windows XP Professional w/ Service Pack 1a

PS: Recently my PC general has been a bit of a bitch, Firewall and/or anti-virus not starting up on boot, Internet Explorer settings changed...etc. possibly a virus, changing my settings)

Thanks

Try this:

Goto Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio devices -> Volume -> Advanced -> Speakers -> Speaker setup -> 5.1 Surround sound speakers.

Look in the settings for each individual media player you use. They may have to be set up individually to make use of the 5.1.

Windows Media Player's Speaker config is set in the Control Panel > Sound Speech and Audio Devices. It's Set To "Surround 5.1", but Im still only getting 4.1, and more volume from my centre speaker than others. I think this motherboard is on its last legs, alot of things are starting to fault on it. I'll try it when i get my other system up, if i ever do........

Thanks anyway
