Secondary slave drive ATAPI incompatible

My PC have a DVD and cd writer. I've placed a new DVD But I get this message when I start my PC:

Secondary slave drive ATAPI incompatible

I'm unaware of computer administration and don't know how to proceed.

Moreover the DVD drive and CD writer drive are dissapeard from MY COMPUTER and I can not access any CD / DVD.
Thanks in advance
Jesi

Specify your system details and particularly your CDD jumper settings. Write down Bios information as to all HDD and CDD.

do what megumi said.also you might want to try a different cable.ive had the same problems in the past.first time it was the cable.then it turned out to be pins.and then it also could be the ide controller going out.
