some basic ram questions
So i am getting a HP media center pc from my rents and i plan on upgrading the ram
i was thinking about going with: 1 gig of Corsair PC2700 ddr ram but while i am looking what is the difference between Non-ecc registered ram and ecc registered ram? also i noticed the computer currently has pc2700 ddr ram, would a faster ram work in this computer? |

RAM Qs
Hey m8
ECC is Error Correction .....something, dont really need it unless you runing a sys which CANNOT fail (ie. server) and maybe, higher spped RAM may spped up you system, but you board and CPU must support it or it will fall back down to the max it can go. (ie AMD - will fall back to 333 (2700)), so it will help to an extent hope this helps ya |
