Unhappy Switching out cd-rw/dvd drives??

I read the "read this first" thread about posting new threads and I did the search thing and I looked through the first three pages of threads before posting a new thread. I have a inspiron 5100 and I accidently brought an 1100 from ebay thinking it was a 5100. Now I would like to know if I can use the the cd-rw/dvd drive from the 1100 for the 5100??

You can give it a shot. CD drives in laptops are extremely easy to replace; typically one screw needs to be taken out and then you can use a paper clip to pop the eject feature and pull the drive out that way. If the two don't match, no big loss. It'll take all of 10 minutes to try it.
