Video Card Performance!

Hi everyone,
Recently I purchased a GeXCube Radeon 9600 Pro 256MB, because it was the best card I could get my hands on. Im kind off dissapointed by the fact that it can't actually perform in Far Cry as reviews said it would (unless them cheap bastards lied - again!) And at the performance ratings Im most likely headed for in DOOM 3. Can somebody tell me how well my machine will run DOOM 3 and reccommend Detail levels, screen resolutions etc. Or should I look for a second hand Radeon 9700 Pro or 9800?

System specifications:
AMD Athlon XP 2500+, 333Mhz FSB
RAMos 512MB DDR-RAM, 333Mhz FSB
Gigabyte GA-7VM400M, VIA-KM400
Maxtor 40GB, 7200rpm, ATA/133
GeXCube RAdeon 9600 Pro, 256MB, 128bit, AGP-8X
Creative Sound BLaster Live! 5.1 Digital

Thanks in advance.

it all dpends on the amount of money you have...
plus have you overlcocked your card? or your system?

if you have a good card and a old system.. well wont do good.

plus... 9600 aren't too new, and the newest games like farcry and doom 3 might require a better card to run it super fast or a overlcocked card (at the speeds you might expect)

imo: BFG 6800 Gt OC a great card, and u can overclock it more...
only 379.99 at Frys :P

Okay,
Well buying a new card really isnt an option for me here, its taken me long enough to get this far, because Ive been between jobs, and with school in the way. As for overclocking, I dont know how far I can push it with these heatsinks and fans. Im in year 10 this year, and I dont want to be speninding too much time upgrading, I just want to have SOME fun before I leave school, and go for full-time work where fun dosent exisy, lol.

How far do you think I can push this 9600 Pro?

Clock Core speed is 400Mhz
Memory Seed is 325Mhz
