Network Cards Sends Billions of Packets
I have an IBM laptop with a built in 10/100 Mbps network card.
For the most part the card performs fine, downloading at about 80% utilization (@ 100 Mbps); however, when I go to upload files with it it slows way down often uploading at about 0 to 20% utilization (It stays at 0% for a while then transfers a bit then goes back to 0%.)
I can't help to think that it has something to do with the fact that the adapter is for some reason sending about 3-4 billion (yes billion) packets a second.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Billions? Per second?
1. Bad NIC driver
2. Bad Hardware
Replace driver first. If problem persists, get a new PCMCIA NIC for about $40 and see how that goes.
