Computer fan runs continuously (didn't used to do this)
For some reason the fan on my Toshiba Satellite A25-S279 decided to just start running almost all the time. I used to never hear it run. Now it starts up at least every 30 seconds and runs for about 10-15 seconds.
This wouldn't be such a concern if other things weren't also going wrong. Such as my SD-R2412 CD-RW/DVD-Rom drive deciding to not work (I'll post that one seperately.) Also my computer is just acting up - sluggish. I'm trying to be as descripive as I can but nothing sums it up better than the saying my computer has become a major POS. I run Norton Anti-virus (nothing) and spy-ware programs like Hijack this. I can't seem to isolate any major problem. Anyway, any help is appreciated. |

Actually, the problems could be related. If the optical drive is heating up, then it will make the laptop overheat, thus causing the fan to kick in.
The sluggishness may also be caused by the drive. Can you remove the drive from the laptop and see if you system performs better without it in?
