Expected temp for Prescott w/ OEM HSF???
Hi All,
Does anyone know what's the expected temperature with OEM HSF? * Asus P5GD2 (775) * 2.8GHz (DO stepping) I have just installed it over the weekend and it's running 55'C idle, and 75'C load! * I have turned Q-Fan off - the CPU fan is running steadily at 4500rpm * I have left the case open while doing this test * Ambient temperature of last night is around 17'C ? If this is NOT normal with OEM HSF, what could I be doing wrong? I'd like to sort this out before I install an aftermarket HSF. Thanks in advance! Cheers, David |

Loose Plug...
Figured it out... one of the HSF plug was loose... prob. when I was moving the PC around...
Now it looks a bit normal - around 47'C idle and 60'C load.. phew.... (btw, this is even with o/c to 3.2GHz) with case closed the load temp goes up to 69'C.... unfortunately I've got an old Al case that does not take a rear case fan..Now waiting to get my hands on Arctic Cooler Freezer 7.... :-) |
