I cant keep my GPU cool

ive got a geforece 7900gs with an aquagate viva hooked up to it and i cant keep it cool. im using a zodiac case with 7 fans (3 120mm 1 front 1 back 1 side, 1 90mm side, 3 80mm 2 on the radiator for aquagate 1 blowhole) im running World of Warcraft at full settings except for shadows. im idleing at 41C but after a couple of hours of gameplay my graphics card shuts off. the highest ive seen the temp go to while im playing is 54C but ive read on the internet that my card shouldnt max out until about mid 70's is this maybe an issue with my graphics card settings?

have you tried playing with your case open? see if it crashes. if it does, you could try improving the air flow in the case.. otherwise maybe the heatsink on the gpu isnt set properly or shifted somehow. or try a better fan as the previous post suggested.

good luck.

Dont worry about your gpu temp..its fine.

My GPU (9800GTX) idles with nothing but xp going at 54*C.

Until you notice it getting to the upper 60's, id worry.

Clean out the dust.

Maybe its time for a new gpu

My advise and the only technique I use is that you open the side of your computer and put a fan i front of the exposed parts. saves money, time

Check the power cables. You may have knocked out/loss the power cables connecting the GPU to the PSU.

Try playing a couple hours with your case open if you still overheat then you might need to reset your fans or even possibly get a new better powerful one...

How long have you had this GPU for?
