Angry My Geforce 6800 overheating?

Ive recently bought a new XFX Geforce 6800 128mb, everytime i play a game like doom 3 or half life it would run good but then after 5 minutes you would see a lot of artifacts on the screen. I then decided to look at the temperature and it said 153 Degrees and the Ambient temperature was 34 Degrees Celcius. I have never attempted to overclock the video card. Any help would be appreciated.

Check the fan to make sure its installed right and hasn't been loosened somehow, that could lead to high temps.
