Old 12v AMD processor fan as a case fan?

Hi, hope someone can help.

I need a temporary cooling solution for a gaming pc. Ridiculously high ambient temperatures are sending the processor temp sky-high.

So can I use the fan from an old athlon xp a couple of weeks as an exhaust fan or an intake fan?

If I can do the above (no matter how noisy), will it be possible to regulate speed?

I guess this will seem like a pretty dumb question, but I'm not the most technically minded of folk.

No, it will do little to nothing for cooling your case.

You can get an actual case fan for ten bucks which is a lot cheaper than replacing the other parts in a computer that overheats ...
