p4 3.0 Ghz HT cooling

hi all
just got a p4 3.0 Ghz HT and the cpu temp keeps changing alot i cranked up my thermaltake spark 7 cooler so it sits on about 32c/89F what should it sit on. room temp here is about 30c
i have no idea help be appreciated

The temp will change depending on the load on the cpu. The max case temp for your cpu is something like 70c, which you don't want to approach, but if you are below 50 or so you're fine. If the noise is a problem, you can probably crank the heat sink down a bit, since you are far from overheating

VERY HIGH TEMPS ON 3.0 ghz intel processor

Hi,

I face a similar issue. My Intel 631 model, 3.0Ghz HT enabled processor toucehes 62 C with a stock processor and with no overclocking et all. Is this normal. Can we overclock this processor??

62 is high, i have a 3Ghz and its heavily overclocked and my temps get to the mid 50s and low 60s on a very hot day @ load, low 60s is not normal for a CPU running stock

my guess is you probably just have a lot of dust stuck in you heatsink and/or you have a broken fan or need more fans
