    Cooling P4 3.06GHZ Northwood Processor

I have an Abit IT7 Max V.2 Motherboard with a Northwood P4 3.06 GHZ processor, I was checking the idle and load temps with this new processor and noticed that they are getting warmer than I would like, my processor temp under idle is 50C-53C and under load it is around 65C-66C, I recently also added a new heatsink fan, I am now using the Thermaltake Spark 7, under load I am running the fan at full speed, 6000RPM. I have heard that this particular Abit motherboard reports temps above what they really are, however I am still a little concerned. I have approximately 4 case fans in my case. Can anyone tell me if this is normal or if I should be concerned about these temps?

Be sure you have the latest bios update to possibly fix reporting problems. Try re-attaching the heatsink using good thermal paste (arctic silver is best), and be sure it attaches securely with good even contact with the cpu.
