    Cooling System Zones

    Hi,

I am running a P4 2.8Ghz with 1gb DDR2 in a Rosewill TU-153 case. The temperatures are as follows. Idle: CPU 42C, Zone 1 and 2 are at 34C. The ambient temperature is 24C. When under a full load (i.e., i-tunes+starcraft+boinc running einstein@home) it runs as follows: CPU 61C, Zone 1 and 2 are 40-41C.

The CPU I don't think I will be able to get a whole lot cooler without using an extremely loud fan, which is what I am trying to avoid...currently using Thermaltake silent 775 cooler.

But, what I would like to do is possibly cool down the system zones and possibly get it to run a little quieter if possible. The current fans that are in there pass 29CFM and run at 27.5dBA. I am looking into upgrading the out fan to a 92mm, specifically the Antec 92mm smart cool (http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=35-129-032&catalog=23&manufactory=BROWSE) and then the two front fans to the 80mm thermaltake with speed control (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-999-120&depa=0). Do you suppose I would see any difference in the temperature, or not really? Does anyone have any personal recommendations for fans?

    Thanks in advance

You system zones are at a good temp. If you want to get your processor temp. down use one of the piped heatsinks. With them you can sometimes get by without haveing to use a fan. But you system zones are fine.
