    Asus fan control

hi, have asus sli mobo with decent case and a 3gig intel cpu.
i have enabled the q-fan control in bios because the fans seemed to run awful loud and high. now the fans sort of spin up and down almost every 3-5 seconds almost according to the cpu.
problem is this up and down sound is more anoying that the fans simply at full blast. anyone come accross this? thanks.

I dont know much about this but I belive there are two programs that can fix your problem. The first one is named 'Asus SmartDoctor', I think the latest version is 4.85. The other program is called 'Speed fan' or maybe its 'SpeedFan' - one word. Just google them up and see if any of them work for you.

EDIT: And if you decide to use any of those two apps, then screw the BIOS thing you did.

It sounds like your normal temperature is right around where ASUS determines the fans are on high or low speed. You should be able to adjust the thresholds with the Windows app ASUS includes.
