100 % cpu problem

hi i really need help. a few days ago i realised i couldnt play .mp3s . when i looked i had 100ish % cpu taken up and the mp3 would jerk really badly and play in like slowmotion. I then realised that it was for all audio files including the windows startup sound was jerky. i have 1.3 ghz amd - radeon 9700pro , 256 ram. I formated but that didnt work.

when i try to play a file through kazza its smoother and it takes about 80%cpu , and i can hear the mp3 more clearly but still not very well. plz help im going mad

You formatted your hard drive and the problem still persists? That would indicate that this could be an issue with an installed applicaiton. Has anything been recently installed?

i recently noticed that this problem only happens when i install my 3d card [ radeon 9700pro ] , before i installed 3 d card it was fine, this is really bugging me , any help _really really_ appreciated

Have you uninstalled the card to see if the issue is still present? If this is a suspect check their site for similar known issues.
