amd athlon 64 bit processor
hi there can anybody tell me issues involved with the amd athlon 64 bit processor.. does it support linux.. can i install linux on the amd athlon 64 bit processor...
Any help will be greatly appreciated..

It does, you can (well, install it on the hard drive at least, but I know what you mean ). It works with both 32 and 64 bit programs, no problems.

The only problem I see is that there are many few applications prepared for 64 bit processor.

True, but the athlon64 will also run 32bit apps, and with a bit of a speed boost compared to an athlon XP or Pentium with similar stats.

bear it in mind though that the amd 64 is not like the g5 - it cannot switch between 32 and 64 on the fly, u have to restart
