What is it being detected as? There are 2 versions of the 2600xp. If your says it has the 333mhz fsb, it should have a multiplier of 12.5. If the 266mhz fsb, it should have a multiplier of 16.

Actually, you would set it to 166, (its DDR, so it gets multiplied by 2, giving 333mhz). I believe there's a jumper somewhere you'll have to set to 166.
What mobo? Be sure you have latest bios, that can cause problems.

Dave, is DDR exactly twice as fast? I'm using normal pc133 right now. If DDR is really that beneficial, I'll do an upgrade.

DDR is twice as fast as regular sd-ram, but that doesn't mean a 50% increase in performance or anything. It would be a modest speed increase. Be sure your board supports ddr, instead of just sdram if its older.
