CPU for ABIT NI8 SLI Motherboard

I just got an ABIT NI8 SLI motherboard from a friend a while back and was wondering if anyone knew if it will support the Intel Duo Core 2 procs? The ABIT site doesn't say if it will or won't.

http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb...ies=1&model=280

I'm am looking at the e6600 w/ the 4Mb L2 but wanted to see if anyone knew about compatibility issues.

http://processorfinder.intel.com/de...spx?sspec=sl9s8

Thanks for any advice! Scott

Yes, but their website may be out of date. For one thing it says that this MB will support the D 8xx chips but doesn't say anything about the D 9xx chips (Both are the "D" type). I'd like to be able to get either a D 9xx or Duo core CPU for it if possible. I was wondering if anyone had one of these boards and had looked into it.

C2D support?

I also have the NI8 sli abit mobo and was wondering if anyone has tried using the core 2 duo with it. Abit was a little shady on saying they supported the D9XX series so I was wondering if they were being the same way with the C2D. If anyone got a C2D or C2Q please post.
