CPU Processing Power
Just to give a nice comparison of CPU's, I ask everyone to download WinRAR from rarlab.com and use the benchmark program ( ALT + B ) and give the value in KB/sec that it gives you. Please let the program run for 30 seconds for accuracy.
******************************************
**NOTE : MEMORY SPEED DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE **
** WITH THE MOST COMMON TECHNOLOGY OF RAM **
** BEING DDR2, PLEASE NOTE WHAT YOUR RAM IS **
**UNLESS YOU ARE USING DDR2. WINRAR DOES TAKE**
** INTO ACCOUNT THE SPEED OF YOUR RAM! **
******************************************
Please insert the information as given below:
----
Core 2 Duo E6300 [processor]
1.86Ghz / 667Mhz DDR2 CL3 [Current Speed / Memory and Latency]
900KB/sec - With hyperthreading [WinRAR rating]
585KB/sec - Single Core
----
Core 2 Duo E6300 OverClocked
2.80Ghz / 800Mhz DDR2 CL5
1150KB/sec - With hyperthreading
750KB/sec - Single Core
----
AMD X2 3800+
2.00Ghz / 800Mhz DDR2 CL5
1100KB/sec - With hyperthreading
----
AMD 64 X2 6000+
3.00Ghz / 675Mhz DDR2 CL4
1102KB/sec - With hyperthreading
----
Core 2 Extreme QX6700
2.66Ghz / 675Mhz DDR2 CL4
1679KB/sec - With hyperthreading
----
Core 2 Quad Q6600
2.4Ghz / 675Mhz DDR2 CL4
1634KB/sec - With hyperthreading
----
Core 2 Extreme X6800
2.93Ghz / 675Mhz DDR2 CL4
1384KB/sec - With hyperthreading
----
Core 2 Duo E6700
2.66Ghz / 675Mhz DDR2 CL4
1346KB/sec - With hyperthreading
----
Core 2 Duo E6600
2.40Ghz / 675Mhz DDR2 CL4
1295KB/sec - With hyperthreading
----
AMD 64 FX-62
2.80Ghz / 675Mhz DDR2 CL4
1175KB/sec - With hyperthreading
----
AMD 64 X2 5200+
2.60Ghz / 675Mhz DDR2 CL4
1089KB/sec - With hyperthreading
----
AMD 64 X2 5000+
2.6Ghz / 675Mhz DDR2 CL4
1005KB/sec - With hyperthreading
----
Pentium 4
2.6Ghz /133Mhz DDR CL2
210KB/sec - Only 1 core / no hyper threading
----
This will give users a nice comparison on CPU processing power. I can get my processor to 3.2Ghz stable, but 2.8Ghz is enough. If you can't get all the info its fine.

I will organize the list according to AMD/Intel CPU's once i get home, im between classes right now
