    Smile Cpu upgrade

Hay everyone first time poster long time watcher lol.So here goes I'm currently rebuilding my girl friends pc she's got a hp pavilion with a rc-410 m rev 1 and lga 775 socket. It's got a fried cpu atm so I wanted to upgrade from a pentium d 2.8 ghz

So my question is what is the best processor I can Install in there so that it would be compatible with my chip set etc.

Could I fit a intel Pentium D 830 3.0ghz CPU Processor Dual Core in there as there's one going cheap at the moment would I get a noticeable difference in performance thanks in advance pete.

go to the website / page of your laptop model, and try to find what other cpus does it come with, this should give you a list of possible cpus,

as for the cpu choice, try not to get something so fast, as usually (not always) faster means produce more heat, and eat up the battery pretty fast, ..

usually, newer cpus generations are better in heat and power managment, .. so put that in mind,

a cpu with 65nm, is defintly better than one with 90nm

and finally, look at ebay and try to find something that fits your needs
