dual core amd vs intel

I was looking at an intel extreme 840 but have read the reviews that a similar amd is better at around the same cost, can anyone help me out with some info about it? i lost the webpage, and can't find anything around the AU$800 mark.

I would go with dual-core AMD. Although I personally liked Intel, dual-core AMD's performance, in my opinion, is much better. I hope that helped.
