Information on old AMD Athlon CPU

I have been given an old Evesham PC with an AMD Athlon Processor in it.
I want to re-build this PC and use it as a Media PC and I am trying to find out what is currently in the box.
How do I find out what the Motherboard and processor is?
Is there any mileage in trying to use some of the existing kit or just start over?

Everest Ultimate

there's a 30 day free trial of it. A good bit of kit, gives you all the info you should need on your Ram / CPU / HDD / Motherboard / Sensors etc

HTH

Cheers Mike.
Do I have to run it on the old pc to scan the internals or can I run it on my PC and just answer questions or prompts?
As I Have the lid off and without starting to demolish it I would like to see what is salvageable.
Regards Cliff

Needs to run on the PC you wan the info on.

If the machine is a non-starter, it's probably not much use to you.

Without knowing the Details of the mainboard etc, not much info we can give that might help you figure out if it's worth sorting lol

just google the motherboards model number (it's normally printed on the board somewhere.. Like MSI ones normally have MS-6787 << stuff like (as an example) that's just randomly printed on it.

Normally you get a good hit on google with a datasheet or something with all the info ya need

Info on old AMD Athlon CPU

Thanks for the help. I have established that the cpu is an AMD K7600 (600Mhz) and the motherboard is an AMD K7 pro VER1 which seems to support up to 650 mhz cpu (not fast enough)
So basically its a start again job I reckon.
Cheers Cliff
