Intel Celeron Upgrade
I currently have a Celeron 1.8GHZ CPU in my PC, would it be possible to upgrade it to a 2.8Ghz Celeron with my current set up?

There are few types of 2.8GHz Celerons. Different chip/FSBs. I would say if you have a 400MHz FC-PGA2 1.8GHz you would be safe to to get the 400MHz FC-PGA2 2.8GHz, and may need a BIOS upgrade to identify the newer CPU. To tell you for certain you will need to post what motherboard (manufacturer and model) you have.
Some motherboard vendors have web page that will tell you what CPUs your board will take, and if a BIOS upgrade is required. So if you identify your motherboard you could check the vendor site to see if they have such a list posted. |
