Overheating Prescott 3.2

hi i've just bought a brand new 3.2 prescott to replace an older 2.8 chip. when i plug the new chip in the PC won't even start, put the old chip back in a screen came up saying the PC was shut down because of overheating!

any pointers on what to do would be much appreciated, thanks...

check your board's makers site, most boards require a bios flash to be able to be able to use the Prescotts.
