question on 64bit AMD processors

can windows xp take use the new 64bit AMD processors to their full capabaility since it is only a 32bit OS? (not sure if this makes since)

there's a 64 bit version of xp called xp 64, which is specially for 64 bit processors, but the a64 processor can run both 32 and 64 bit processors just fine...

Simply put: no, ordinary windows xp doesn't take full advantage of a 64 bit processor. (And from what I hear, 64bit windows ain't that great). The 64 bit amd chips run 32bit apps faster than an ordinary cpu though (3000+64 faster than 3000+ xp), so they are still worthwhile buys
