Simply put: no, ordinary windows xp doesn't take full advantage of a 64 bit processor. (And from what I hear, 64bit windows ain't that great). The 64 bit amd chips run 32bit apps faster than an ordinary cpu though (3000+64 faster than 3000+ xp), so they are still worthwhile buys
