The Best Processor

I have a question on processors and CPU overheating. I purchased a Dell laptop over a year ago and right after we got it it started having trouble. It would overheat and sounded like a train gasping for air. It finaly died. I will never buy a Dell again.

Here is my question. What is the best processor and laptop overall? I was considering Lenova(or IBM) as they sound alot better. I want a laptop that is fast, multiple processing program. I am a Web Developer and need a laptop that will be able to handle the following programs running side by side
Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop CS, Thunderbird, Firefox, 3 Messaging services, ZoneAlaRm and Google Earth.

What processor would best handle this? And what computer brand would be best to buy from? Thanks!

core duo is pretty much the best laptop CPU

i don't know if Lenovo sells any with that CPU, but its is currently the CPU that kills all in the laptop arena

if they don't then i recommend an apple (the macbook pro) which do have it, and you can install windows on it too, granted its a bit more $$

also, you may want to wait a few months, i saw some things saying that the Merom with 4MB cache/64-bit is compatible with Core Duo motherboards and will be released in early June (not sure if that is the right date, but its not that bad of a wait), so you may see some companies putting that CPU in there as its not a lot of work on their part with quite a nice speed boost (Intel says 20%)

Lenovo was IBM, then they broke up, now IBM does not make laptops

Thanks for the comments. I figured the Duo processor was the best so will probably go for that one.
Yes Lenova has Core Duo but they are pretty expensive. Like $2000. or something.

Thanks!

Dell actually sells Core Duos too, but in the end it would be- dare I say it- cheaper/just as expensive to go the Mac route.

I don't hold a high opinion for Dell laptops. I would say go Core duo as it can accomplish what exactly you are looking for.

Your best bet would be buying a Mac + Core Duo + Boot camp....aah...what a sweet combination it would make!! {I assume you are buying it for office work and remember: For you, look does matter.}

Yo!

I just said to my friend that if someone needs a laptop, MacBook Pro would be a great option.

Apple's happy. Their stocks have gone up with Intel and Boot camp...wish it was true for Intel themselves.
