I'd go with the 3.0E. ASUS and ABIT are both hi-quality MoBo makers, and with a 800 MHz FSB and HT, you can get much more than a single 2.8 Prescott (which, iIrc, is @ a FSB of 400/533 MHz and no HT) for only $18 more.

The P4 Prescotts (E) have major heat issues compared to the Northwoods (C). They also underperformed when compared to the northwoods.
You're better off getting the P4 2.8C or the P4 3.0C. Both are 800fsb with HT technology, just as the Prescotts(E). Personally I'd get the P4 2.8C, i dont feel that 200mhz justifies a 40 dollar increase.

if you’re not an overclocker, do not buy any Prescott where there is an equivalently clocked Northwood available. This means that the 2.80E, 3.00E, 3.20E are all off-limits, you will end up with a CPU that is no faster than a Northwood and in most cases slower.

Wink

I'd say there's so little difference between the procs that i'd be buying based on mobo features..

THe ASUS says DELUXE.. does that mena it has more 'stuff' than the ABIT??
