    Angry StartPage-DC Trojan

I've scanned my computer 50 times with McAfee and again 20 times with CW Shredder. They've all found something in the past until last night. Each one says I'm clean. But when I restart my computer I get a McAfee virus alert that I have the StartPage-DC trojan.

I don't use internet explorer but it's loaded on my computer. I use AOL but I've removed that program.

I can't seem to delete internet explorer.

My CPU is running at 100% and all kinds of *.exe's are open and running.

    Now what do I do?

http://securityresponse.symantec.com...startpage.html has removal instructions, http://www.techimo.com/forum/t110963.html also discusses removal of that trojan.

    Thanks for the info

I've tried all those cures but it's still not working.

Someone told me to use spybot search and destroy next.

    Heard of it?

I use it myself. Its very good at removing spyware/malware etc, but you have to be a bit careful, b/c if you tell it, it can delete necessary things as well if it thinks they are infected or changed.
