A sweet bird called doel (Copsychus saularis) is the national bird of Bangladesh. It is a black and white bird. We have 388 species of resident birds,
240 species of migratory birds because of our diversified habitat for birds. Doel is a song bird. It can mimic calls of many other birds. But at the early
morning it has its own special sweet call. The national bird of Bangladesh was first proposed as water hen (Dahuk) but it was Professor emeritus Kazi Zakir
Hossain of Dhaka University directly requested Bangobandhu Shekh Mujibur Rahman to make it Doal. His argument was Dahuk is rarely seen village bird and population
in under almost extinction. Doal is common in any place of Bangladesh. And as making logo it can be printed in black and white. So this is the history of Doal becoming
our national bird. As his disciple I like to thank him on behalf of all Bangladeshi and spread this information to all. This picture was taken during its specialized morning
call. Bhorer Doel Pakhi. The Oriental Magpie-Robin is a small passerine bird that was formerly classed as a member of the thrush family Turdidae, but now considered an Old World flycatcher.
The Pied Kingfisher (Ceryle rudis) is a water kingfisher and is found widely distributed across Africa and Asia. Their black and white plumage, crest and the habit of hovering over clear lakes and
rivers before diving for fish makes it distinctive. Males have a double band across the breast while females have a single gorget that is often broken in the middle. They are usually found in pairs or
small family parties. When perched, they often bob their head and flick up their tail.
This kingfisher is about 17 cm long and is white with a black mask, a white supercilium and black breast bands. The crest is neat and the upperparts are barred in black. Several subspecies are recognized within
the broad distribution. The nominate race is found in sub-Saharan Africa, extending into West Asia. A former subspecies syriaca is considered as merely a larger northern bird of the nominate species (following Bergmann's rule).
Subspecies leucomelanura is found from Afghanistan east into India, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Laos. The subspecies travancoreensis of the Western Ghats is darker with the white reduced. Subspecies C. r. insignis is found in Hainan
and southeastern China and has a much larger bill. Males have a narrow second breast-band while females have a single broken breast band.

Orange Dove (Ptilinopus victor):

The Orange Fruit Dove (Ptilinopus victor), also known as Flame Dove, is a small, approximately 20 cm (8 in) long, short-tailed fruit-dove in the family Columbidae. One of the most colorful doves, the male has a golden olive head and elongated bright orange "hair-like" body feathers. The golden-olive remiges are typically covered by the long orange wing coverts when perched. The legs, bill and orbital skin are bluish-green and the iris is whitish. The female is a dark green bird with blackish tail and orange-yellow undertail coverts. The young resembles female.
The Orange Dove is endemic to forests of Vanua Levu, Taveuni, Rabi, Kioa, Qamea and Laucala islands of Fiji. The diet consists mainly of various small fruits, berries, caterpillars and insects. The female usually lays one white egg.
The Orange Fruit Dove is closely related to the Whistling Fruit Dove and Golden Fruit Dove. These species are allopatric, meaning they do not share the same habitat in any location.
A common species throughout its limited range, the Orange Fruit Dove is evaluated as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
