Embedding custom font help

ok so I've followed some instruction on embedding a custom font on a webpage, but I'm having trouble. I use a @font-face to link to the actual font document, and then call on it later in the css. It's not working. Please check and help if you can.

Code:
@font-face {
    font-family: elixancontent;
    src: url(/misc/elixancontent.ttf);
}

Code:
#content {
    width: 640px;
    min-height: 500px;
    font-family: 'elixancontent';
    background-color: white;
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    float: left;
}

The html has a content div with text which is supposed to be the selected font, but is not.

html: elixanstudios.8tar.com
css: elixanstudios.8tar.com/css/default.css
font: elixanstudios.8tar.com/misc/elixancontent.ttf

Hi there fool4krist,

according to "fontsquirrel.com" your font elixancontent.ttf is corrupt.

Also I was unable to find your font anywhere.

The nearest that I could find was Elisia

Have you renamed it?

Hi there fool4krist,

whilst waiting for your reply to the font problem, I thought
that I would have a look at your layout problems.

Check out the attachment to see the fruit of my labours.

Wooow thanks for all that, you really didn't have to. I did rename the font after downloading it and making sure it ain't copyrighted. I suppose I shouldn't be renaming fonts then...

I love the layout fix, but I'm still indecisive on whether I want that layout, and that whole style altogether, so...

This was more of a project to see my limits and learn - apparently my limits are very small, I have lot's to learn.

Grateful for all the help from you!
