Getting Text to change colour on mouseover (in an email)
I am new to all this, and I have a major problem with some code I am using / writing in Dreamweaver Cs6
I am trying to make an email signature that allows the text links to change colour on a mouse over.
I want the text below to change from black to a red colour.
Just the text itself, with no borders round no colour highlight behind it no underline nothing else at all.
I would like -
To change to the red colour #a70801 on each line. So if you point at BLOG for example in changes from black to red only.
I have done all the links, I have gone into the tab in dreamweaver that lets you change colours etc and put in the right code for the colour I want, but it wont do it. Nothing I do makes any difference at all. The only thing that works is if I set it to make the text bolder it does that when you mouse over. I want it to change colour only and it still wont do it.
I am now lost and at my wits end and need to get this done by the end of the week. I have taken out the url links as its not allowed
Any ideas and help would be fantastic!
Here is the code I have so far -
<body link="#808080" alink="#808080">
<img border="0" src="Tim%20Cole%20Sign%20Small%202.jpg" width="155" height="25"><p align="left">
<span style="text-transform: capitalize">
<font size="2" color="#000000" face="Times New Roman">WEBSITE</font></a><font size="2" face="Times New Roman"><b><br>
<a style="text-decoration: none"
<a style="text-decoration: none" href="(NONE)">
<font face="Times New Roman" size="2" color="#000000">LINKED IN</font></a><br>
<font size="2" face="Times New Roman"><br>
</font></span><font face="Times New Roman" size="2">
<span style="text-transform: capitalize">+44 (0)7446

Still no reply yet?
Can anyone help? Please??? PLEASE???
I am almost at the point where I am ready to pay someone to do it for me.
I had no idea something this simple would be this much of a pain to do.
All I want is the text in the links to change from black to grey or red on mouse over. I wonder why its so hard to do in Dreamweaver?

Welcome to DevShed Forums, davros01.
Which email clients and webmail services are you trying to support? Many don't allow what you're trying to do. I recommend you take a look at this: http://www.campaignmonitor.com/css/
Also setting styles for the links won't work if you're using <font> elements (which are obsolete) inside them to also set the same styles.

I have got it working now thanks. I ended up writing it from scratch again and it works on everything.
