IE vs Firefox image and text alignment problem

Sounds simple... but I can't find an answer.

I've a simple table row with a css background image.

In the row I've my text links and two images that are links.

While in firefox everything lines up nice and straight... in intercrash exploder it's all over the place, the images are almost subtext and the text is almost text top..

    Any advice?

The page can be seen at addcolour (co uk extension)

CSS in a folder css the file name is addcolour

    Many thanks

I do understand that the simplest thing to do here would be to turn the lot in to images... however I'm interested in getting to the bottom of all this...

    Help would be appreciated.

You have some validation errors - fix those first.

Generally cross-browser compatibility is less of a problem when you use XHTML Strict Doc Type, so I would recommend using that instead.

And be aware of IEs bugs: CSS Differences in Internet Explorer 6, 7 and 8

    "intercrash exploder" heh

Have you reset the padding and margins (padding:0; margin:0) of the containing elements? Padding in IE can sometimes increase the size of the element you're applying it to which would throw out background images.

Have you tried forcibly aligning the text (using line-height)?
