Layout issue with IE (XHTML/CSS2)

Hi all,

I've done a website to the XHTML spec and I'm have issues with my layout Essentially what happens is that IE (and possibly others?) is producing a result like this: URL (150K)

The site is URL

I've noticed problem on the home, history and links pages. It does not happen all of the time and if you cause some form of page redraw (change text size using Ctrl-Mouse Wheel, or window resize) the page always redraws as I would have expected it.

CSS file - URL

Anyone have any bright ideas about this please?

i'll quote myself from couple of other threads,

Quote:
when you use xhtml1.1 you should server
the page as application/xhtml+xml
not html/text as you do now
http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml-media-types/

as for your layout problem
you could try to use margin-right:166px instead of right: 166px; within div.content in the css.

Thanks for the tip - I'd not noticed that section

Anyways, to solve the problem I moved from an absolute positioning model to a relative one. I've not tested the pages on anything bar IE at the moment so I cannot say it's 100% fix just yet!

I usually test under IE6, NS7, Mozilla 1.4 and Opera 7 - are there any others anyone thinks are worthwhile. (I've got a friend who runs Safari on a Mac and he also has a quick look over the pages)
