    Link colors in Firefox & Opera compared to IE


    I've searched the forum but can't find why my test with the following code works properly in IE (white link goinf yellowish on mouse over but not in FF or Op. It would be useful to correct this before going any further:

    Firefox and Opera is less forgiving than IE for invalid code.

    Table cannot have span as a direct child.
    Span which is an inline element cannot contain blocklevel elements.

    Instead of a table use an unordered list for navigation.
    You can look at these examples to see how you can style a list.
