Cool Problem, IEexpore and css layout cells when refreshing

Please check the below link.

http://www.bergen.co.uk

Can anyone tell me why the right cell content drops down when the IExporer refresh button is hit?
When you click the links in the menu it works fine!

The page uses css layout techniques. Would be happy to provide any more info.

Ta vm

Well...you got a good one here

Short answer, dunno.

Long answer, I bet it has something to do with the tables you're using, and the percentages with the widths. I've never had much luck with that.

As far as the problem with the refresh goes, specifically...you got me, dude...that's a special one there.

While I don't usually debug table layouts, I did notice that you have no <body> tag in the index page. In the UK Transport page, you neither end the <head> section, nor start the <body>. You think that might cause troubles?

cheers,

gary

You don't THINK it will work? Didn't you try it? There may be something else (especially since IE screws up so much involving float), but I point out two near fatal flaws and you don't think thats (sic) gonna do it. Do you have a modicum of clue?

"…i dont think thats gonna do it…" sheesh.

My bad

Humble apologies. Poor choice of words on my part. Let there be no doubt i appreciate the help. I have replaced the close head andopen body tags. Unfortunately i still have the problem.

I have been looking into the "float bug" in IE. do you think that is the root of the problem?

Again sorry

Good! Now the page is valid html. Now the bad(?) news; I can no longer replicate the naughty behavior (IE6).

One other thing: I notice your host is using Apache 1.3.3. Somewhere around 1.3.25, some critical security patches were made. Were I you, I would do some serious chain jerking to get your (client's) host to update.

cheers,

gary

I have managed to sort the problem out by adding a table within the css layout. It wasnt an ideal solution as i am trying to master css.

At least i can invoice the client now.

Ta for the info on Apache. I will harass my clients host.

Cheers
