    Son of suckerfish

    Hi,

Can anyone help me. I am using a son of suckerfish dropdown menu on a joomla 1.5 site I am working on.

    laminatefabricators.com

The menu is dropping down fine on all of my browsers (apple mac: safari, camino, firefox). & are fine on firefox for pc. The menus aren't displaying at all on Internet explorer.

Please help... I have wasted so much time trying to fix it/find a fix.

    Your URL is 404.

The link worked fine for me.

tomsl, for the dropdown to work in IE you need to add some javascript. Here is a good link that shows what to do .

Hope that helps. Let us know.

Stupid OpenDNS. When I didn't have the www. it 404'd. Adding the www made it work. :/

    Hi Arem,

Thanks for your feedback, I have added the Javascript to my templates index.php
    Code:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="templates/<?php echo $this->template; ?>/js/custom_lib.js"></script>
I think I had removed the old standard suckerfish javascript, probably because I thought it came in the download with the son of suckerfish. Unfortunately I don't have a pc to test on - and now have to wait for the client to get back.

Have I added the javascript correctly?

Thanks very much for your time to respond...

I have reverted back to my original suckerfish menu now.

Again, this is displaying great on my mac on all browsers The client says that it is dropping under the next parent item along. Also for some reason it is only displaying on 50% of their office computers, all running IE7.??? I am baffled, and losing sleep!

If anyone can help me sort this I will be very grateful.

    Thanks,

    Tom

Tom, all's working fine for me in FF and IE7, except, as you say, that the drop list is off to the right (on both Mac and IE7).

I haven't quite worked out how the drop list is being positioned yet. Will keep looking.

EDIT: my suspicion is that the display: inline settings you have are causing troubles. float: left is doing the job anyway, so tr removing any use of display: inline and see what happens. that may be affecting the positioning.

    Hi Arem,

Thanks so much for help so far. Its really appreciated.

Unfortunately the changes to inline haven't effected the positioning (still correct on my macs still out of line on clients PC browsers).

If you find anything please let me know.

    Cheers,

    Tom

    all sorted

    Hi Arem,

I found a fix. needed relative positioning on the main li's and 0 instead of auto on the left positioning.

Thanks again for all of your assistance.

    Cheers,

    Tom
